  • Who is Salon Xtensions and what do you do?
    Salon Xtensions is a professional hair extension distributor based in New York City. We purchase and stock large quantities of select hair extension products that have the most current market demand. Our experienced buyers have carefully selected the products for their quality first as well as their versatility. Salon Xtensions, otherwise known as SalonX, is designed to service the experienced hair extension consumer. We work with hundreds of salons nationwide and continually consult with them to enhance our product line. All our products are professional salon-grade quality and we also supply the support products to properly install, uninstall and reinstall our hair extensions. We look forward to servicing you and your clients.
  • If I'm a licensed stylist or salon, can I get a discount?"
    Yes! Sign up on the "Professionals/ Wholesale" tab above and include a copy of your current state license. We will review within 24 hours and issue you your discount code via email.
  • What kind of hair am I getting?
    All SalonX hair extensions are 100% pure human remy hair. Our buyers have worked diligetly to supply you with the highest quality human hair on the market. Hair quality is our #1 priority. They have chosen specific grades of hair that will provide a tangle-free long lasting product. None of our hair extensions contain any chemicals and we only utilize natural pigment dyes to minimize any skin sensitivities. We NEVER use any synthetic hair strands in any of our products. You can color, style, cut and wash our hair extensions, because they are 100% human remy hair.
  • Are any of your products made out of synthetic hair?
    We don't use any synthetic hair strands in any of our hair extension products. All our hair is 100% human remy hair.
  • How do I install your products?
    Beside the Clip-in's and Halo's, we highly recommend that you book an appointment with a licensed and experienced hair extensionist. If you need help locating one in your area, you can email us and we can recommend licensed extensionsits in your city.
  • Do you use any chemicals on your products?
    We do not use any chemicals whatsoever in any of our hair extension products!
  • Do you use a silicone coating on your hair?
    No. We don't utilize any form of coating(s) on any of our hair products, let alone silicone.
  • How do I take care of the hair?
    The 12 Golden Rules To Care For Virgin Remy Human Hair Extensions. 1.) Brush before bed and before washing to ensure there are no natural occurring tangles caused by wind or friction. 2.) Do not brush wet hair as that is when hair follicles are at their most vulnerable. 3.) Use an Organic and sulfate free shampoo. Sulfate strips hair of natural oils, as there is no direct supply of nutrients from your scalp into the extension strands, its vital that you use a no sulfate shampoo to avoid drying the hair out. 4.) To avoid damaging the hair extensions, the cuticles and your scalp, only wash with warm water. 5.) Wash the hair gently in a downward motion with your palms, do not scrub or bunch the hair together as this will cause open cuticles to rub against each other causing friction. 6.) Rinse between each wash, and wash only 1-2 times. 7.) Whilst wet, add 2-3 drops of natural oil such as Almond oil by gently applying it evenly over the hair, these oils will penetrate the cuticles and add moisture to hair extensions. 8.) Natural oils do the work of most conditioners without the added chemicals and silicone's, natural is always best. 9.) Finally, lower the shower head and rinse your hair (not scalp) with cold water, this is known as an Arctic Rinse it will close the cuticles to lock the moisture and nutrients from the oil in, leaving you with nutrient rich hair extensions. 10.) Let your hair air-dry at home, take 2-3 hours to wash and naturally dry your hair - Do not use heat as this will swell and dry your strands. 11.) Apply a small amount of Almond oil 2-3 times a week or when required. Argan oil is a great finishing oil for styling and frizz, however its a dry oil and does not moisturize the hair as well as Almond or Coconut. 12.) For long lasting hair extensions, moisturize your hair as you do your skin, it makes perfect sense.
  • How long will your products last?
    Of course like anything else, the better you take care of your hair and follow our hair care instructions, the longer the hair will last. Typically with a good daily care regimen our hair extensions should last at minimum 1+ year.
  • What does "Order Processes Within" mean?"
    This is the time period required for us to put your order together and get it ready for shipping. This time frame exists, because your order is fulfilled in the order that it came in amoungst all of the orders we are processing at the time. Please be patient....it wil be well worth the wait! Once we print the shipping label, you will be notified via email with the tracking number. The transit time to you starts then. Whatever shipping method and timeframe you picked at time of checkout is the transit time to you. Processing time + transit time = delivery to you.
  • Do you sell half-packs of your hand-tied wefts?
    Yes, we do, but you must contact us because the website does not have the capability of handling or computing half packs. We will manually enter the order for you and you will receive a PO and payable invoice via your email address on file. The cost of half packs is exactly half the price of a full pack.
  • How fast will I get my orders?
    It depends on the product that you are ordering. Most of our orders get processed and shipped out to you within 3-5 business days. Each product page has its own processing time marked clearly in Orange. If any products are not in stock, we will notify you of the back order and let you know when to expect it. Once shipped, you can get them in as little as next day, depending on what shipping option you choose at the time of checkout. All custom orders that we have to make especially for you will take a minimum of 2 weeks to produce. Transit time to you is above and beyond the production time of 2 weeks.
  • Do you offer free shipping?
    Yes! We offer free US continental shipping via USPS First-Class mail (3-5 business days) if you spend $200 or more. USPS Express (1-2 business days) is a paid option.
  • What if I have a return?
    Please contact us at sales@salonxtensions after you have read our return policy above. Do not attempt to send the products back without prior written approval and a SalonX approved RMA label. SalonX reserves the right to refuse any return and/ or exchange.
  • What products do you keep in stock?
    Most of our products are always in stock. The only products that are not kept in stock are the Volume Rows and any custom product. A custom product is any product specification that is not listed on our website. Custom orders typically take a minimum of 2 weeks to make plus shipping time.
  • Can Salon Xtensions make something custom for me?
    Yes! We can make almost anything you want...different textures, lengths custom colors, densities and custom product weights. Please contact us to set up a custom order consultation to review your needs and expecations. Custom orders typically take a minimum of 2 weeks to make plus shipping time.
  • Do you ship out on the weekends?
    Sometimes we do ship out on a Saturday, but typically Saturdays are reserved for any overflow from Friday. The warehouse is not open on Sunday.
  • I don't see where on the website to enter my Pro Discount Code?
    If you are using a mobile device, such as a smart phone or tablet, the entire website is in a condensed format, so you will have to look a little more carefully for the "Redeem Coupon" window. The coupon code window is located on the checkout page after you have all of your selected items in your cart. Once you proceed to the checkout process, the first page will be a review of the items in your shopping cart with a subtotal below the itemized items. Below the subtotal, you will see the words "redeem your coupon". Click on that and enter in your Pro Discount Code. It will automatically deduct your Pro Discount from any and all qualifying items in your cart. You can then proceed to entering in your address and credit card information after that. If you have proceeded to the address and credit card screen of the check out, you have gone to far and passed the section where you need to enter your Pro Discount Code. Keep in mind, it is much more clearly visible on a laptop or desktop computer. Contact us if you are still having trouble locating the discount/ coupon window.
  • Can I buy one pack at a time? Is there any minimum?
    You can buy one pack at a time. The minimum is 1 whole pack of any product. If you are buying 1/2 packs of hand-tied, the minimum is 2 half-packs.
